Need help with EmberPaws? We're here. Most questions are answered below — if not, email us and we'll respond quickly.
How do I add a second dog?
Go to Settings → Manage Dogs → tap the + button in the top right. You can switch between dogs from the Manage Dogs screen or from your Home Dashboard.
How is the Ember Score calculated?
The Ember Score is a 0–100 daily wellness number calculated from your recent logs: weight trend, medication compliance, stool scores, skin condition, walk frequency, and feeding regularity. The more categories you log, the more accurate the score. Green (thriving) · Amber (watch) · Red (consider calling your vet).
How do I share a Vet Report?
From the Home Dashboard, tap the "Vet Report" quick action. EmberPaws composes a clean summary of your dog's recent readings and opens the iOS share sheet — choose Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or any app on your phone.
What does the Purina Fecal Scoring System mean?
The Purina 1–5 Fecal Scoring System is a standardized scale used by vets to assess stool consistency. 1 is very hard (pellet-like), 5 is very soft/liquid. The ideal range is 2–3. EmberPaws uses this scale so the data you share with your vet is immediately meaningful to them.
My data is missing after reinstalling the app.
EmberPaws stores all data locally on your device — it is not backed up to iCloud or any server. Reinstalling the app deletes all local data. We're working on optional iCloud sync for a future version. For now, avoid deleting the app if you want to keep your history.
Can I switch between lbs and kg?
Yes. Go to Settings → Units → choose your preferred weight unit. All existing weight entries are converted automatically.
What is the Litter Network?
The Litter Network lets you connect with your dog's littermates from the same breeder — share growth charts, spot shared health patterns, and schedule walks together. This feature is coming in Phase 2. You'll be notified when it's ready.
